I even minored in English Lit so I could do more reading and writing, even though I knew my future field was in Science. I could easily knock out school papers and loved to journal privately. My handwritten diaries eventually followed the streams of technology and morphed into blogging. And although it was more of an effort with all the other responsibilities of life, I found joy in that as well. I still love going back and read my thoughts and subsequently, my emotions, on any particular subject.Scrapping was also an outlet for my writing. I would fill pages with prose and revel in their comfort. Somewhere along the way, my busyness got in my way. My writing became less frequent and I miss it. I need to recapture the lost art of the written word. I want to do that for me and my family.

I think it comes from my need for the occasional escape. I have no desire to read books that are similar to my real life, that are sad or that make me cry. I want to feel good when I finish a book. And if I don't, I tend to get mad about it. I want the ending to be nice and tidy. Is this because I�m shallow? I don�t think so. It's because life is not tidy. It is not all about the happy endings. Why would I want to escape into a fictional nightmare when there are plenty of bad dreams that surround us everyday. I see it. In real life. In situations that are hard and beyond anyone's control. The pain. The failed relationship, the illness, the tragedy, the abuse. I live a sheltered and blessed life, but I see those that really hurt. When I read, I want to escape into someone's world where the conflict will end and the good will prevail. It may be fiction, but to say that I don't enjoy the good guy winning and the love overcoming all would be a lie. I guess I'm a sap, but I'll keep reading.

This particular tree is located in Grandy and Grandpa�s front yard in California and Jacob was four years old. He loved hanging out in the branches and I�ll have to admit, it really is a great tree. Adventure in the air. Gotta love little boys.
