This barn tells a story...the story of an immigrant family making their way in the new land...the story of hard work and love of the land...the story of generations. This barn was built by my great-grandfather sometime around 1920. It has weathered many a storm, as have all the people who have lived on this land. This barn holds memories of days gone by, tales of humans and the animals who resided within its walls. This barn has stood as a symbol of the Stoschack farm for over 90 years. And it holds memories for me, precious memories of time spent with Papa Joe, hitching up the tractor, caring for the chickens and ducks, searching for tools. The barn may not last another season, and it seems impossible to think about the farm without it. PapaJoe would be sad to see it go. Truthfully, so will I. Just another reminder that time slips away...that we say goodbye to those we love...that nothing lasts forever. This barn has stories to tell, stories of which only the walls within bear witness. It seems sad to have to say goodbye. At yet, that’s how stories are written: with a beginning and an ending. Then we move on to the next chapter of our lives....
