Building Blocks v.2 from Chelle's Creations Derby from Chelle's Creations and GG Digital Designs Dates Matter - Andilynn Designs Font - CK Twiggy Journaling: Avery was so excited when she found out that the GA's were being allowed to participate in the Pinewood Derby at church. Usually the event is only for the boys in RA's. She anxiously awaited to receive her package that contained her car, wheels, and weights. I took her to Michael's and let her pick out the paint and accessories because every car needs to look good, right? Of course, she decided on neon pink for the base with a beautiful blue stripe down the center accented by butterfly stickers. It didn't take long for Avery and Wes to start working on the car. They started by sanding it down and then took it outside to apply the base coat of paint. After letting it dry thoroughly, Wes taped it off so that Avery could apply her blue stripe. Once that paint dried, they sanded the entire car again. Wes also sanded the wheels to ensure they were smooth (hoping to increase the speed). Avery was happy when the time finally came to apply the finishing touches - her stickers!Avery could not wait for race night to arrive! She proudly marched in with her car, checked in, and waited for the races to begin. Imagine her shock and disappointment to finish in nearly last place! It truly devastated her to realize that her car was slower than all the others. Good thing Avery and her car looked good in the process though! It also looks like Dad has some research to do before next year's race! |
