Bug Catcher by Chelle's Creations
Journaling: It's late Springtime, and school is almost out for the Summer. The kids are getting restless since they know that camp is not too far away in their future. I'm in the house, doing whatever seems important, when I hear the front door slam shut. It's suddenly very quiet in the house. After a few minutes I get curious, wondering what everyone is doing and go outside myself. The kids were so restless that they decided to run around the neighborhood with John, just to get out that excess pent-up energy that's been steadily creeping into their bodies every day. It's twilight, not too hot, not too humid. So, I sit on the front steps and watch the three of them run around, chasing each other, thoroughly enjoying the moment. And then I see them - the lightening bugs. Fireflys. Popping up all around over the place. So I take a few photos, knowing that I'll never really catch one this way, instead just trying to capture this moment of tranquility and the magic of nature. Then I look at the photos. And to my surprise, I discover that I have caught one! There it is, the teensy green speck to the left of the tree. I have captured the magic forever. |
