Journaling reads: Since the beginning of January 2010, I have been struggling with staying healtiy.
You see, I have severe psoriatic arthritis (meaning I have psoriasis and arthritis
together). Most people think of the “heartbreak” of psoriasis with patches of dry
skin on their elbows and knees. I have psoriasis all over my body and even affects
the inside of my mouth. Since January I have been fighting an uphill battle
against a staph infection. I have taken 6 rounds of antibiotics and I don’t think
I’m done. The antibiotics leave me exhausted and nauseous. I have lost
seventy-two pounds since January. As this infection tries to defeat me, I will
continue to fight to win. I might win a small battle, then the infection
ambushes me and I start the fight again. The regular medications I take have left
me with no immune system. I give myself two shots a month and take a
chemotherapy drug in the hopes that my body will quit fighting with itself.
In the meantime, I will continue to have a positive
outlook. I know I will ultimately win with God’s help and the prayers
of friends and family. While I might get discouraged every once in a
while, I know that life is worth so much more than letting something like
this defeat me completely!

Learning to lean on God has been the biggest outcome of this war. I
know that with Him, all things are possible and He can defeat any
enemy, even this disease.

I know I am better off than thousands of people on this earth that
have devastating diseases. Mine is minor compared to those fighting
cancer or even Alhzeimer’s. I will not die from my disease,
though the side effects of my medication may kill me.
One thing I will always remember during this struggle:

God and I are in this to win!

What a beautiful page Terin. I love your pops of color throughout the page - showing there is light at the end of your battle! I had no idea the severity of what you were going through and am SO sorry! I will continue to pray for you and am so glad to hear that you are relying on Him, the Great Healer, during your health struggles.
