Journaling: From the time we were just kids she has instilled in us a sense of family and what that means. She is always there to lend an ear and a shoulder, advice even when we think we don’t need it, humor, love, discipline, traditions, and she gave us an awesome set of morals.
For most of our lives and our children's lives, she has been but a 5 minute drive away. We are a very close knit family and we do a lot of things together. From holidays and learning how to make cookies or cook the turkey to a pic nic lunch during the work day, we have done things as a family. A few of us to all of us and our respective families, which more times than not included friends, we have spent days, weekends, and vacations together. Every day grocery shopping to school shopping, to a girl’s day out; all have included her.
Now that she has moved to Florida, we miss her every day presence in our lives, but we are learning to keep the family close even though she is miles and miles away. We talk on the phone, the computer and visit when we can. Those of us still close distance wise, do those things we have always done together, showing that what she has taught us is still with us.
We are who we are because of her.
