All the years I was growing up David & Diana lived just three houses away from me. I grew up with their sons, but never really got to know her, but what I did remember was that she was so sweet and caring. The other memory I have is that she and David adopted a daughter from Korea and a short time later moved away. I never knew where they went until I accepted her son, Scott, as a friend on Facebook this year. He ended up being the first step in our re-connection. When he saw that we were in the process of adopting our daughter from China, he let his Mom know we were fund raising and I had made a cookbook and ladybug earrings. He knew she loved cookbooks and would want to help because he knew how much adoption was dear to their families hearts. When I first got the request for a cookbook and earrings, I was in disbelief and kind of thought "no way" that can't be her. Then, she sent me an email and started to explain who she was. Sure enough it was the Diana I knew and I was ecstatic to be able to visit with her and get reacquainted. Since then, we have connected like Mother and Daughter and she has been the biggest blessing in my life through our adoption. I love them like time has never passed and look forward to having them in my life forever now. She and I both know that it was "A God Thing" and He knew we needed each other. |
