BOTCT Week 2 - Chelle's Creative Geniuses
The word we chose to use was "Today" Scraplift of Present by mommy22girls and Bus Cake by shanellgambell All kits by Chelle's Creations Batter Up, Batter Up Blue Team This and That: Kick it (grass scatters) Food for Fans (button stitching) Onward and Upward (green rope) Play the Game (grass stain) Get Well Soon (alpha) Today was the first time we went to Dodger Stadium for a game as a family without Dad. It just seemed so strange to be there without him passing us money for food, eating his peanuts and anything besides a Dodger Dog (shame on him!), listening to Vin Scully calling the play-by-play on the portable radio, whistling his ear-piercing whistle, and just enjoying having his family around him. I know that being there was especially hard for Mom. She's having such a hard time adjusting to living without him, being torn between not wanting to do anything we used to with him versus doing it just because life goes on. and we must too, no matter how we feel. She misses him so much. So we went: Mom, Wanda, Andrew, Nathan, Travis, Charlotte & myself, to keep on with the Summertime tradition of going to a Dodger Game when we're out in California for our annual visit. Because life does go on, just as it was meant to do. We will never, ever forget you, Dad. And thank you for all the wonderful memories that we will always have every time we step foot in Dodger Stadium from here on out. Because we just know that there's baseball in Heaven. We still love you and we always will. So, let's root, root, root for the Dodgers, if they don't win it's a shame... |
