Here's my husband, Chris

Journaling Reads:
Every year since he started working for the UN,
Chris would be asked to "play" Santa Clause
at the Christmas party for families and especially children of the UN staff.
Obviously, with his big belly and white beard, he is a natural choice.
And, like everything he does in life, Chris always commits fully to the role.
No matter how hot it actually was, he would put on the Santa suit,
attach the fake beard, and entertain the children tirelessly
while handing out presents until sweat soaked all the way through the red fabric!


This year, though, that will change.
He still has the Santa suit alright but the beard was lost somewhere
after he moved from the mission in Liberia to the one in Lebanon.
We tried to help him find a replacement but there were none at the costume shops.
At that time it was near Halloween so the best they had to offer
was a wizard's long white wig.
We just have to hope, for the sake of the children,
that the Santa's 'ho, ho, ho,' laugh this year
will not sound too wicked through the wizard's silky beard!
