Simply Dated Vol. 14 by wm [squared] **Black Friday Grab Bag**
Great Escape by wm [squared] **Black Friday Grab Bag** (some recoloring) Let It Snow by wm [squared] and Purple Tulip Designs Winter Shimmer by Haynay Designs and Happy Scrap Girl Designs (heart) Yesterday, Today and Forever by Plum Dumpling Designs Journaling: I love the Christmas season. It is my favorite time of the year because everyone is so happy! There’s so much going on, so many dear friends and family you get to visit with. I love reconnecting with old friends through Christmas cards and pictures. But, last night I was feeling a little frenzied. I always have the majority of my Christmas shopping done before Thanksgiving so that I can enjoy all the fun things planned in the month of December...but not this year! There has just been so much going on and with jobs being a little sparce, I wasn’t about to bring up with DH what my Christmas budget would be...I think that is mostly why I didn’t get started with the shopping sooner. Plus, DH always feels shafted with Christmas gifts cause I always do it so early and he doesn’t feel a part of it since he is a December Christmas shopper, so he is excited that he will be more a part of the gift giving this year, which will be good.I haven’t gotten anything, and to top it off, I decided DD would enjoy getting some new skirts that I have the fabric for, but will have to sew...and since this Christmas is one that we are on our own (even though we will be at mom & dad’s since they live close), MIL isn’t sewing pj’s, so I have 5 pj’s to sew also. I just don’t feel ready this year at all! Last night as we were planning the month‘s activities, between Music Concerts, Christmas parties, Nutcracker, Carol Singing, Downtown Lights, Toys for Tots, Blankets for the Homeless, Nativity/Cresh at the Stake Center, I was feeling like there wasn’t even a day for DH and I to squeeze in one night to go shopping. So, as I was getting my Christmas decorations down today, I was still feeling a little overwhelmed with everything...as I came down to the living room to move couches around to get it ready for decorating during FHE tonight, I turned on the radio and the first song that came on was Josh Grobin singing O’ Holy Night, and all the anxiety melted away! There is nothing better than hearing one of your favorite Christmas songs and getting your house ready to decorate. It was so nice to take a deep breath and realize everything will be fine and it will still be a wonderful month full of family activities and traditions. I remembered the real reason for the season, to be thankful for our Savior who was born into this world for us...we will be doing so many things as a family to strengthen our relationships and traditions. It will be a season of...(LOVE & TIME) |
