Journaling: It's not often that my whole family can get together in the same place at the same time, so this Christmas was truly special. With everyone around, it is especially chaotic, but it's a happy chaos and I love it...and despite what the others say at times...I know they truly love it too.
The best part of Christmas, to me, is getting to spend time with your loved ones. And I am so happy and lucky that after 15 years, and what has been the most emotional and turbulent year of my life, I was able to spend a week with my family and friends. I am so fortunate to have so many loved ones who support me unconditionally and I am so happy to be surrounded by those loved ones every single day. I cannot thank them enough or show them enough gratitude to let them know just how much they have helped me and my kids during this past year. I don't know where I would be or what I would have done without each and every single one of them, both near and far.
The kiddos all got their favorite present, the parents for some pretty cool and funny gifts, and the siblings had fun with their secret Santas. We had our traditional Frank Christmas breakfast of crepes, eggs benedicts and an assortment of meats and cheeses, a traditional Christmas dinner with turkey and stuffing...but threw in a little Asian flair with crab legs, and an amazing Mongolian Hot Pot...which is always a favourite of ours.
Of course, the worst part of Christmas is always having to say good bye. So Darren and Auria, and Tanya, Frank and their kids said good bye. But there were no tears from me this year because this is only the first of many. I am so happy and lucky to be back in Canada. I can't wait to spend many more Christmases surrounded by my family, but even more so, I am looking forward to the every day moments I get to spend here.
