One Thousand & One Nights by LDrag Designs and WM[squared] Designs
Most Awesome Templates Ever by Denise Beatty Originals One of the exhibits at the Folklife festival was this interactive sculpture in the Asian American area called the Guest Book, which John & I both signed. Here is what was written about it: "Fooh Sham, professor of fine arts at the University of Maryland, Designed this sculpture to resemble a giant guest book. Please sign it with your hame and a one-word description of yourself or your profession. Signing our Festival guest book is symbolically important on several levels. First, it means you are welcome here, which was not always the case for Asian Pacific Americans. Second, signing it vertically reminds us that several Asian languages are written from top to bottom. Finally, the medium of wood ensures our signatures will eventually wear away. However, the memories created here will affect us and our global relations for years to come." |
