A dear friend of ours is battling with stage IV cancer, and her sons have asked all friends and family to share a few memories of her. So I did what I know best: I scrapped a page.
Journaling reads: Dear Peggy, I remember when we spent Thanksgiving, and Christmas, and Easter, at your house: there would always be new faces around the table, and we all felt part of a big family. At the end of dinner, you would come up with a fun game to get to know us all better: What famous person would you like to meet? What unusual thing have you done that people wouldn't think of? What book are you reading right now? you gave my mom (a musician) a music book that had been written by your grandmother (also a musician): it was such a thoughtful gift! you would explain to us the meaning of some phrases, like the now obsolete "back in the day", or the ironic "not that there's anything wrong with that" we went to have dinner with you, Brian and my mom on the lake: such a breathtaking view and such a pleasant evening with dear friends Credits: Good Mother by Jenn Barrette Font: Pea Olson, CK Ali's Hand |
