On Sunday, January 28, 2001, Charlotte was baptised at the National Presbyterian Church in Washington, DC. All of her grandparents were there to witness this special event in Charlotte's life. Since Grumps is an elder at NPC, he had the honor of presenting the children for baptism to the members and friends of the church. Charlotte wore an heirloom-style silk dupioni gown with English lace that I made for. The gown's design included appliques representing baptism and Christianity: a cross, shell with water drops signifying baptism, a candle signifying the light of the world, and a dove, signifying the Holy Spirit. It is also embellished with a floral design done in silk ribbon embroidery. Her bonnet was crocheted for by her Grandma P.
