Journaling says:
This was one trip where we were looking forward to going home. So much had gone wrong from getting sick and spending most of the trip in the hotel to the extreme heat. The night before we were to leave Melinda got sick. Luckily we had a later flight so by the time we were going to board the flight she was feeling a bit better, at least well enough to go home. There were some delays with the flight, which wasn’t good since we had a connecting flight. When we landed in Detroit we were eager to get off to catch our connecting flight. When we finally disembarked I trip and skinned my knee, but I couldn’t take any time to think about it. The monitors were still saying that our flight was on time. We practically ran to the gate only to find that it had also been delayed. At that point I was able to tend to my knee. The second flight was a bit bumpier, but not too bad. We were thrilled when we finally landed.! Home sweet home! While we waited for our bags we called Mom to come pick us up. It was great to be home!
