Everything from Everyday by Sahlin Studio

Template from GWL: Letters Edition April by Zinnias and Swallowtails and Crystal Livesay

Journaling reads:

Asa is probably my oldest friend. I have never known a time when he has not been a part of my life. His dad was the pastor at our church, and since he was a year older than me and a year younger than my sister, it was only natural that we were playmates as children. I still remember that he and Jenny used to torture me when I was little, tickling me mercilessly. It is because of them, actually, that I trained myself to not be ticklish. As children, we often went to visit the more elderly members of our community with our parents. I have vague memories of lots of time spent in the car. When we were a bit older, Uncle Larry and Aunt Nancy divorced and we stopped seeing Asa as much. We went to Vegas together (and hit a ton of trafic on the way back) but didn’t see each other again until middle school and Alleluia. It was amazing to see how he had changed. His parents divorce had changed him into a somewhat sullen preteen, but as a teenager he was clearly happy and rarely troubled. From then on, we saw each other at Alleluia from time to time. When Alleluia ended, we managed to keep in touch and randomly hang out. Once Jenny went off to college, it became habit to see each other whenever we were on break. I even went to Nashville to visit him at Vanderbilt last spring break. Unfortunately, we were unable to find time to hang out this past winter break, and Asa didn’t come back for spring break this year either. Since he might not come back during the summer, and I might be going abroad fall quarter, I might go more than a year without seing him! Luckily our friendship is of the kind that picks up where we left off, like no time has passed, so I know we will be fine
