The day we went to see the Cherry Blossoms both of the kids really wanted to get out on one of the paddle boats they have for rent in the Tidal Basin. I told them it would be the perfect thing to do with Dad and promised them that we'd bring him down one day to do it. I knew then that I wouldn't have the leg strength to get the three of us out and back. We had so much fun floating out in the water, all taking turns at the paddles to move the boat around. The best part of it all, besides spending a day together as a family, was seeing the monuments and the city from such a different perspective than normal. It was so cold that day - colder than we expected, but it didn't take away from our fun at all. And we were so glad that Dad was with us because he was our main source of pedal power!
