Journaling:

It has only taken 37 years, but I finally feel like I am getting comfortable in my own skin. These last few years have been ones of turmoil, change, and fervent prayer. We have been through so much as a family, and sometimes it is hard to find the purpose in all the pain...but this year was a turning point for me. This year was the year that I finally realized that, not only do I deserve to be happy, but I actually WANT to be. I worked really hard this year to find something in life just for myself...and at the same time find balance with other things, although not solely
my own, that really do bring me happiness. And next year...I want to take my journey to the next level. I want to finally put aside things that have been holding me back and embrace the life that I was meant to live. I want to get healthy: physically, emotionally, and spiritually. I want to surround myself with love, and life, and laughter. I want to find harmony in all the parts of my life. I just want to be my best self. And the difference this year, as I make these vows to myself,
is that I know this is the path I should have been walking all along. This year I am resolute.
