- Journaling reads: "It took me a long time to appreciate the town where I grew up. It seemed just a tiny blip on the radar, a miniscule place with only a handful of residents and even fewer things to do. I couldn’t wait to get out into the world and leave this boring, ordinary place behind for something exciting and cosmopolitan. Now that I’m older, I’ve come to admire the charms of small-town life in a sleepy South Carolina town. Going back home now makes me remember a simpler time when the toughest decision I had to make was who to choose for my kickball game. I can now truly appreciate the little things such as neighbors who know you by name, parades and street festivals with live music and fried food, church with the entire family and the delicious Sunday dinners that followed, and playing outside until dark. I guess it’s true; there really is no place like home. Journaled August 2011"
