The journaling reads:
I am not sure when the obsession of cooking began. What I do remember is that you always had a love and passion for food. Every time Mama was in the kitchen cooking or baking, you had to come and investigate what was going on in the kitchen. Then when you knew there was food being made, you always made sure you had some samples throughout the process. Maybe that is when you fell in love with cooking, because you could sample the food along the way. I do not know. Another thing I do not know is when you conjured in your brain that you were going to take Rachel Ray’s job on the Food Network. I know we watch a lot of Food Network, especially the cake challenges, Emeril and other great chefs, but we don’t necessarily watch a lot of Rachel Ray as Mama isn’t a big fan. One day when you were about three you blurted out that you were going to take Rachel Ray’s job. Mama laughed at your comment, but it became clear throughout the year and years following that you were serious with your passion of food! When Food Network hosted 'The Next Food Network Star' you would watch with anticipation, wondering who the hosts would pick as their next star. When Melissa Arabian was picked at the next star, you were excited as you always said she was the best on the show! Shortly after the show, you would be playing with your kitchen accessories, pretending or should I say practicing, that you were on the show fighting for the title of 'star'. When you would help Mama in the kitchen, you would often comment that you were the next Food Network Star. When you were not talking about being on the show, you would be talking about how you were going to take Rachel Ray’s job and make her work for you. When Mama asked how you were going to take her job, you would always comment that you were going to learn from the best and become the best in the business. While you are still little, I hope that as you grow, you keep learning how to cook and bake. If you never take Rachel Ray’s job or find yourself on television, you will know how to be the best cook, taking care of your family with yummy and delicious meals created by the best chef!
