Return to Oz by Viva Artistry

It was the night of my birthday and I had no idea what was in store. John took me to the 600 Restaurant at the Watergate Hotel before walking me across the street to the Kennedy Center for my gift - tickets to the Wizard of Oz sing-along! I couldn't think of a better gift. We were handed goodie bags when we entered, filled with props to use throughout the night: a kazoo to play whenever we saw the Wicked Witch of the East, bubbles for Glenda the Good Witch, a twirly noisemaker for the Monkeys (or whenever else we wanted!) and a sparkly streamer wand to twirl in the air when the tornado came. After a brief costume show on stage, the movie began. It played from start to finish with the words to all of the songs on the screen (not that we true Oz fans really needed them) and we sang to our hearts content all movie long. John had remembered me saying that once I went to go watch Oz at a friend's house and we weren't allowed to sing along (the horror of it all!) so as soon as he saw this event advertised he knew that we just had to go. And that's why I love him so much.
