One of my book addiction genres.
Journal reads: From the time I could read I was like a sponge, picking up every book possible and reading it as quickly as I possibly could and moving on to the next book. As a child I of course read age appropriate books, but never really had a specific genre or author that I preferred. Well into my teens I had decided that the mushy, sappy, smutty, romance novels were not for me. I had managed to read a handful of mom’s Harlequins which contributed to the decision to find another area. I stumbled across a Stephen King book at a local book exchange shop and that was all it took. I was so intrigued by how descriptive the author was. I gobbled up every word and was mesmerized by the extraordinary ability of Stephen King to paint such a graphic and detailed image of what was happening in the story. I was hooked. I have always been a fan of a good mystery, but not everyone cares for this style of writing. I myself was quite surprised by finding a favorite author. Through the years my taste for books have changed. I go through stages of reading chick lit like Sophie Kinsella and Johanna Lindsey. Since having kids I tend to stick to light reading, but every now and then I still manage to pick up a Stephen King book when I get the urge for a good thriller!
