Journal reads:
Asia had so much fun on her trip to the pumpkin patch with school. She was a bit tired and cranky all day from not sleeping well the night before, but seeing mommy made it better! I had went with the other two kids and their classes too so I was so excited to be a part of her adventure too. We had a long bus ride to the patch, Asia had a little issue staying in her seat on the bus, and she is a little bouncy. I ended up having to hold her on my lap. She ended up snoozing till we got there. It had rained that morning and the teachers and I were a bit worried that we wouldn’t be able to go out to the patch to find pumpkins, but the owner of the patch promised us there would be a way to please the kids! We all loaded a giant hayride pulled by the most neon blue tractor I ever saw and headed out to the patch. Asia loved the hayride as did all her classmates! It was a bumpy ride out there and I held on to my wiggly girl and one of her friends as we traveled up and down the hills to the patch. The Pumpkin Patch ended up being a bit wet so we had to ride the hayride a bit longer then expected, but we finally found a spot that was not so muddy. The kids all were excited to jump off the ride and find their perfect pumpkins. We were advised to stay on the trail, but a bunch of pre-k students had a little issue with that advice and a few of them had mud on their feet. Asia walked around for quite a bit before finding her pumpkin. It was a bit lumpy, round with green still on it, but she fell in love. She went to pick it up and sadly got pricked by the sharp vine. I ended up having to carry her and the pumpkin back to the hayride and remove a prickly from her hand. Poor thing! After all the kids got their pumpkins we took a class photo and then headed back to school on the bus. We had a surprise on the way back to school and the vice president came into town and they closed the roads for a half an hour!; where we were stuck on the side of the road. The kids were not happy. But we finally made it back to school. Credits: Block Party Goodies Oct 2012!
