Journaling: We hit the road for our Oregon Coast vacation at 6:00 am on June 21. This trip was nearly 2 years in the making since we had originally booked it for 2011. We needed to postpone it one summer because of Aaron’s surgery. We rented a big van, packed it full and headed out with Kelly, Caleb, Cameron and Carter. The Karayannis would be flying into Portland on Friday and we would meet them at the beach house. With Caleb behind the wheel we headed up Interstate 5 through California. Cameron and Carter were great for being cooped up in car seats for such long periods of time. We stopped in Redbluff for the night. We got up Friday morning and headed across Lake Shasta and into Oregon, turning west to the coast at Corvallis. We made it to Road’s End Beach in Lincoln City about 4pm.
