This year’s retreat was held at the Bass Pro Embassy Suites in Grapevine. Emily, Connie, Lisa and I roomed together. Lisa was new to our room this year. Also new this year: a meeting room for Friday night and dinner included. We had London Broil and a decadent chocolate
cake. It was another amazing retreat where we watched 3 sessions from the True Womanhood ‘08 conference and were reminded of our true God given roles for womanhood. Something that was rather interesting this year was when we learned the roots of feminism in our culture. These messages weren’t new to me, as I hear similar messages each year at the Above Rubies retreat. The difference was that I was hearing them with ladies that I go to church with weekly. Our church is so diverse but to know that these women are on the same page as me and want to follow God’s plan is so comforting and helpful. Melody and Barb unveiled the study for the coming year as well - Taking Time to Quiet Your Soul. How did they know I needed that so badly?! The discussion was also brought up to start meeting twice monthly, which is something I had been specifically praying for. As usual, we stayed up way too late talking to all the ladies, then going back to the room and talking a ton more! I also car
pooled this year with all my roommates, which was mucho fun! Aiden went along of course, and was perfect the WHOLE time!
