They had a daughter who was about 7 months younger than me, Cheloni and we have been best friends ever since! We can both honestly say we can’t remember a time in our lives when we didn’t know each other. Our parents always laughed because Che & I were virtually complete opposites. I was so fair, tall with blonde hair and blue eyes. Che was so tiny! Short with dark skin, dark eyes, and jet black hair. I was a planner, responsible, 6 going on 16. Cheloni was carefree, uninhibited, with a laugh so contagious you couldn’t help but laugh too. Our backyards touched at the top and there was a gate where we could easily hop from one house to the other. We played practically every day our entire childhood. I’m so thankful that even though we moved away that our families have remained friends. There’s nothing like still having your oldest and dearest friend in your life. |
