Cool as a Cucumber by Suzie Belle Designs, available at ScrapMatters
Paper: by Cafe Digi
Fonts: Poor Richard, Augie
Journaling: On June 17, I went to the doctor. He said I was at 2 cm and didn’t
really expect to have anything happen over the
weekend. Dr. Anderson was a little concerned
because I was measuring smaller than I should, so he
got another ultrasound and it turned out I was smaller
because you had already dropped. We ran some errands.
That night at home we were planting fruit trees in the yard
and we were trying to spring clean. That night we went to
bed around midnight; I had been feeling contractions most of the evening. At about 3 am, I couldn’t sleep any more. Dad and I finished packing and I took a bath. We got to the hospital around 7am. That night at the hospital had been super busy and we had to wait over an hour for them to clean up a room. When I was finally admitted it was
8 am and I was 6 cm. Labor was going pretty well, until I stopped
progressing at 7 cm. I had been there for a few hours. We were
watching a Monk marathon. The nurses kept comment that I was too
happy. They decided to give me pitocin, and that was
the most horrid feeling in the world. Contractions got
really bad and they were one on top of another. They had
me on Pitocin for about 2 hours. I only had to push for about
15-20 minutes. You were born at 12:12 pm. Dr. Anderson
was worried you would need to be resuscitated and so
just in case, they had ordered an oxygen person there,
but you were fine. You weighed 6 pounds 8 ounces.
(That’s what it officially says, but we think that they
did the conversion wrong) and were 20 inches long.
I couldn’t be more proud to have a second son.
