So I've been asked why I blur my children's faces out. I do it for a number of reasons, mostly to protect their identity amongst other reasons. Well today after doing this layout I decided to be silly and "Sew" buttons on my daughters eyes in reference to Coraline, the movie. I showed my daughter and she laughed hysterically! You see, I often joke with her that I AM her "other mother" and one day I'll sew those buttons on her eyes. To celebrate her 8th birthday I did just that--sewn buttons on to her eyes and now she's "officially" mine. If you haven't seen Coraline, you might not get what I am talking about--but I thought it was cute and kept it that way instead of the usual blur!
Alright, moving on to the actual layout! This year for my daughter's 8th birthday we picked up my best friend from the airport and headed over to American Girl where we browsed through the store and eventually at at the American Girl Bistro. It was a fun day, my daughter felt like a princess and to this day talks about her day at American Girl!
