The journaling reads:
I can’t believe my baby has voluntarily put on a pair of pants. And not just any pair of pants, jeans to be exact!! Jeans with glitter sparkles!! Imagine Mama’s shock when Baleigh came into the room wearing just her jeans asking “Mama, what matches these pants?” Mama stopped what she was doing and said “Honey are you sure you want to them…pants” to which Baleigh replied “Mama, these aren’t pants, they are jeans!” Mama tried not to laugh for her Baleigh was serious!! She wanted to wear those jeans! So hastily Mama showed Baleigh a few tops that went with the outfit before she had the chance to change her mind! After a few moments, Baleigh picked her shirt and got dress for the day. Of course Mama was still shocked and decided she needed to call everyone in her phonebook. She was tempted to shout from the rooftop “That’s right, she’s wearing pants!” But she was happy calling everyone and telling them the good news of Baleigh willingly wearing pants!! You see up until today Baleigh has worn dresses for the most part. Almost any time Mama set out pants for Baleigh to wear, she would either put them away or refuse to get dressed. Now there were some days where Baleigh would dress in the pants, but only to change fifteen minutes later declaring it a pajama day! There were those days when Mama would fight Baleigh to wear those pants. However those were usually the day that Baleigh would take off all her clothes refusing to get dressed. Mama quickly decided this was one battle she wasn’t fighting. Mee-Mom told Mama that she needed to make Baleigh wear those pants, but Mama knew that it just wasn’t worth the hassle. You see, Mama was just like that, and still is, when it comes to wearing pants. So if Baleigh didn’t want to wear pants, it was okay. She looked cute in her dresses. But it is really nice to see her wearing pants too! Now that Baleigh has worn pants, I hope that she does not lose her love of dresses but finds that happy medium of wearing pants and dresses.
