Living where we do, in the inland of Norway by forests and mountains, elks are a pretty common sight. Especially in the fall season. And in the spring season as well! We've seen this elk many times, usually they keep their distance. But this one early evening he decided to take his supper in the field right above our house. And we got to see him up close.

It was amazing and a bit terrifying too, he's a big animal after all.
I tried to tell him that in a few weeks hunters will arrive and that they are going to shot at him with other equipments (and far more dangerous) than me; but he didn't pay me much attention, food was more important.

..and the name is Truls
Just for fun we started giving them names and this one we call TRULS. Even though we don't know if it's a boy or girl, but we do know that he was born last year (in early spring) and now is on his own since his mom probably got another calf (or two) this spring.
