journaling: Visting the new Museum of the Acropolis was really quite an opportunity. It has only been open two months, and is just the most amazing building.It is modeled on the actual Parthenon and features all the amazing statuary salvaged from the temple itself. We were privileged to have a guided tour by Cathy Paraschi, one of the Board of Directors of the museum. She is an architect and it was so interesting to view the acropolisthrough her eyes. The museum was actually built on the old ruins, so they preserved it all underneath the
musem and all the floors are made of glass. It was disconcerting and marvelous at the same time. 9/2009
