Journaling: at 6:15 am on December 5, we arrived at Glen Forest Elementary to catch the bus to the Reston Town Centre for the GotR 5k race. 6,500 runners had registered for the event, so it was crowded! It was raining lightly, but the forecast for snow had been lifted. We gathered in the meeting area where Charlotte teamed up with her Buddy runner, Miss Summers. Just before the race started at 8:30, it began to lightly snow, and it was snowing even harder by the time I was halfway through the course. By the time we finished it was so cold & the girls were all freezing! but I was most proud of Charlotte who ran the entire race without stopping. We were so glad when we finally got back! on the bus to go home, where we could be nice & warm!
