Journaling:
We made a last minute decision to head downtown Friday night for the Capital City Christmas Parade. We arrived at 6:30 to make sure we secured a good vantage point. This also gave us a chance to get hot drinks-coffee for Wes and cocoa for Avery and me. It wasn't long before the parade got started and the floats made their way down Madison Avenue to our spot. Many folks were throwing candy - most of which hit us in the head! Did you know that candy thrown from a distance can pack a pretty good punch to your face?
After the parade of over 150 floats and groups wrapped up, the city held the annual tree lighting ceremony. The evening finished up with a beautiful fireworks display in honor of the City's 190th Birthday celebration. What a great start to the holidays!
