So, instead of canceling our yearly Rodee get-together we just had it at the center! They had a very nice little “living room” area with a long table for dinner and couches to lounge in and exchange gifts. It ended up being very nice! The people there were very sweet and accommodating. Uncle Timmy brought TONS of delicious barbeque from Famous Dave’s. We all had plenty of food. It was so good! Then we sat and exchanged gifts. All the boys got deluxe binoculars from Tim and Kathy. It was so entertaining to watch them all try to look at each other across the room. Grammy was in great spirits and was her usual self, hamming it up for the camera. And Gramps really loved the scarf that mom knitted for him. He was touched that she handmade his gift. The whole night flew by and we were sad to have to leave. It didn’t matter that we were at a recovery center instead of someone’s home. It only mattered that we were . . . TOGETHER. |
