My high school crush was the character, Daniel in the book "And One Wore Gray" by Heather Graham.

Journaling says:
One day while at a local comic book and used book store with Chris I wandered over the section of used romance books. While scouring the shelves for something to read I came across by an author I had never read before. The book was “And One Wore Gray” by Heather Graham. I was intrigued by the cover and more so once I turned it over and read the synopsis. The story is the basic tale of two people on opposite sides who fall in love and somehow despite the circumstances find a way to prevail. In this case Confederate Colonel Daniel Cameron is wounded during the battle of Antietam and nursed by a young widow Callie Michaelson whose husband was a Union soldier and killed in action. I couldn’t put the book down!

While reading it though I fell in love with Daniel. He was the quintessential tall dark and handsome Cavalry officer who was strong and honorable. He was the perfect hero. I wished I could jump into the pages of the book and straight into his arms. I didn’t want the book to end. I think I had dreams of Daniel for days after finishing the book. I read the book so many times I wore out my copy of it and had to purchase it again. I bought the other two books in the series and looked forward to any parts that had Daniel in them. I wanted to go to Antietam to see the places mentioned in the book, thinking that this might have been where Daniel was. I didn’t want to believe he was just a character. I wanted to believe that he was real. Since reading this book I began to study the battle of Antietam. Every once in a while I will reread “And One Wore Gray” and fall in love with Daniel all over again!

Melissa, what an awesome page! I love those colors (great recoloring, BTW!) & your title work ROCKS! I'm gonna have to go read that book soon...
