Journalling reads: Friday was Ella’s 6th Birthday and she came here to open her presents and have cake. I didn’t remember to take any photographs of her but I think I might be able to get a few from Lisa. This year she decided that she wanted a pink ballerina cake. It was only when Lisa went to light the cake that she realized she had left the candles at home. We looked in all of the cupboards and drawers but couldn’t find any replacements anywhere. We usually just throw them away when we are done with them I always use a full set on cakes plus number candles for the age. We usually have to light and relight them a few times because Lukas loves to blow them out. It’s also a great way to make sure I get at least some photographs that are usable. Gary headed off to the shops to buy some, Ella ended up going with him since she wanted to spend some of her birthday money. When they got back and lit the cake Lukas was upset because Ella wouldn’t let him have a turn at blowing out the candles. I managed to pacify him with the promise of chocolate fudge cake after Ella had gone home. Since it was half term this week Conor and Ella have been here almost every day, Lukas loves having people more his own age to play with. Since Logan is contagious we have tried to stay upstairs out of the way most of the time, it’s been a great chance to get some cute photos of him. I have been trying to get one of him chewing his feet for a while, but every time I tried he either took it out or was wriggling so much it turned out really blurry. I was thrilled when I finally managed to get a couple. Not content with taking his first steps this week he decided to really show off by learning another new trick, waving bye-bye. Nan is thrilled she has been saying ta-ta and waving at him for the last month or so. The week ended on a high when Amy Williams won a gold medal for team GB in the Olympics and I had a scrapbook page chosen as layout of the day.
