Words for Wednesday
Wednesday, January 9th, 2008
Hi all, it’s Monica today with our special words for Wednesday.
When I was asked to do this post I immediately knew that I was going to do one of my favorite quotes about happiness, but that changed quickly. My son is away from me this week and it has been so miserable without him. Actually, yesterday was his birthday and I cried because he wasn’t with me. But that’s what happens when you have two separate families. I can’t deny him time with his father, no matter how much I may want to. So he returns home today and we celebrate!
So while he was away I thought about this time I was missing with him. I knew these words were coming up and I went online and researched time. Sometimes something just jumps out at you and you can’t forget it. That is exactly what happened.
Time is free, but it’s priceless. You can’t own it, but you can use it. You can’t keep it, but you can spend it. Once you’ve lost it you can never get it back.” – Harvey Macky
I may have lost this week with my son, but I have so many that I will never forget. This is actually one of the main reasons why I scrapbook. You can look through your photo albums and see all these pictures that you’ve taken and maybe you can remember, but not really. I have all these photos and sure I can kind of remember the moment, but you forget all the little details. With scrapbooking I don’t have to forget anything. I can always remember the who, what, when, and where, and even then some.
So the next time you start a LO think about this. What do I want to remember? What about this moment is so special that I want to scrap it? Scrapbooking isn’t about completing LO and putting them out there for everyone to see (although that is fun), it’s about remembering those precious moments and those special people. Don’t forget that. Once it’s gone it may not be so easy to get back.
Wow, that was deep. Now for a little bit of fun. I did a fun little freebie for you. Just a little something to help you remember some of those happy times.
