It’s What Matters Monday and when I was thinking about what to write about it occurred to me that fonts really matter to me! I have ALWAYS been a font freak, LONG before I digital scrapbooked. Finding just the right font is so fun! Collecting fonts I like, searching through dafont.com, it’s just so fun!
Recently I was introduced to kevinandamanda.com. This site has collected TONS of amazing free fonts all PERFECT for scrapbookers! I LOVE it. Check ‘em out and have fun downloading!! I especially love the Pea handwriting fonts.
Like I said, dafont.com has a lot of really fun fonts as well. From handwriting or typewriter fonts for journaling, to funky cool fonts for titles, having a great font makes for a great LO. I browsed through my own gallery for LO’s where I think the fonts really shine.

I created my title on this page with two great fonts: a new favorite, Social Animal & Jane Austen. No alphas or brushes needed! Just quick and easy fonts!!
Susie’s Hand is a digital scrapbooker’s favorite! I’m sure most of you already have it, but isn’t it GREAT?

I also used “Love Ya Like A Sister” on this page for the word “cafe”. It’s a Kimberly Geswin font. LOVE it!!
On this one I used some good fonts!

For my friends’ names I used “Carpenter“. So elegant and pretty. It just screams wedding! The “&” is from Footlight MT Light, a stock font that was already in my computer. And the journaling is a font I use on almost every other LO I do, “Traveling Typewriter“. Honestly, look at my gallery. You will see this little puppy on SOOOO many pages! It’s the perfect grungy typewriter font without being too grungy or hard to read.
Ok, one more . . .

I had seen this cute font on a bunch of pages in galleries and HAD to get it for myself! “Pea Sarahloo” is the name. And the date is just “Century Gothic”, another stock font on my computer but one I also use A LOT. If I’m not using “Traveling Typewriter” I’m probably using “Century Gothic”.
Alrighty - are you convinced that fonts make a big difference?! Have I bored you to tears yet?
I always put the fonts in my credits, because a font deserves it as much as our kits do! AND I hate when I see a great LO with a REALLY cute font, but they haven’t put what font it is! Then I don’t know where to get it!! Haha.
So, fonts are fun. A LOT of the time they can be free! And they are a REALLY easy-peasy way to pump up a LO. Try a new font on that page you’re working on right now!
Have a great Monday!
xoxo,

Great post! You’ve really inspired me with your titles lately, and it got me searching for some new fonts yesterday. I found a cool one that I really love called ‘pointy’ - it’s probably not going to be much use for scrapping, but I like it anyway, lol!

I love using COMIC SANS MS (standard MS font) for sending e-mails, espescially in the larger sizes, where it really shows. I have used it on my HPCSA pages to good effect for a child’s page.
If you don’t mind purchasing fonts, p22.com is a foundry. I have purchased numerous fonts from them - they have one I love, INSECTILE, that uses insect parts to form the letters - great for a boy. They have ART DECO, ART NOUVEAU, FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT, etc.
Thanks for the info on these other sites.
