Hope you all are having a great Friday! Teresa here… I have loved photography since I was a young girl. I took tons of pictures of life, my high school friends, college, my sweet husband… EVERYONE and EVERYTHING! Well it is not surprising that I became a photographer to anyone that knew me. Then, add our sweet girls! I had big plans for the pictures we were going to have. I had the portrait pictures all lined up. HAHAHA

They quickly decided picture time was not much fun… too much look here, wear this, pllllleeeease just do this for the picture. It got to a point that it really was not fun. Then I had clients who desperately wanted a smiling picture of their little one but being in front of big lights in clothes they don’t normally wear was the last thing that was going to bring a smile. :)

One day I was setting up for a session with a client and my girls came out in their pj’s with sippy cups and wanted to play. Well we started playing photography and our time was sooooo much fun! We have not had a formal photo session since with my girls; this was two years ago … they absolutely LOVE photography… both sides. They are as happy taking pictures as they are being in them. So I gave up the JUST SO pictures that I was planning out for the real life real love full of smile pics that we all LOVE!

The other day we played after a session. I was cleaning up the studio and the girls BEGGED me to leave it up and take pictures of them. Here is a quick glimpse at the craziness…

There were lots of crazy faces… crossed eyes… rolling around… just plain being goofy! Out of that thirty minutes of giggly play though I now have these:

Even the dog wanted in on the fun! :) There is no doubt we will look back on these photos and know that there were some really great times being a kid!

Most of us who have a love for scrapbooking have a love for pictures too! You don’t have to be a professional photographer to have kids that are tired of pictures.  If you have a burnt out baby of any age… or a burnt out spouse for that matter… Try taking their pictures the way they want… whether it is in their pjs with sippy cups, with oh so not dressy clothes and bows, all ages, all kids have things they love. Grab your camera and capture that! We would love to see the photos that you take in the ScrapMatters gallery.

Thanks for visiting :)

You are an amazing photographer- these pics are really beautiful! And very wise words, I don’t think I’ll ever do the typical studio session again.
