Words for Wednesday
Hi all- Amanda Kay here!! I’m delighted that I was asked to help out with Words for Wednesday again! Although, I did have some trouble coming up with something to talk about today. Our other amazing CT members have covered so much and had such great things to teach you and share with you. However, I was talking to Brittney and she gave me a wonderful idea of what I could talk about so here goes..!
Have you ever been in your scrapping zone (yeah you know the one where you ignore everything and anyone around you because you’re so wrapped up in your layout that you can’t bare to pull away from it yet?) and you’re putting the finishing touches on it, come up with a perfect title, go grab that alpha that matches, and… wait… there’s no alpha? I know I’ve been in this situation plenty of times and there’s a very easy fix for it!!
Pick your favorite font and type out your title. Drag your favorite paper (or two, or three, or… you get the idea) from the kit you’re working with and lay it over your title, now create a clipping mask. In Photoshop this is done by going to Layer>Create Clipping Mask (or Alt+Ctrl+G) . TaDa!! Now you have a spectacular alpha that matches your layout to a T!
So go ahead, go make those titles beautiful and then go show them off at our gallery!
Here’s a little alpha freebie, made with one of my papers, for those who stayed and played along with me today!
See you next time.. Happy Scrapping!

I love this trick – but haven’t used it so much yet. Just have to ask what font you used for the freebie – it rocks!
