I had this once and just want to tell you there is hope!!!! I lost all my 1st daughters baby photos (first 4 months) along with a once in a lifetime trip out west to Yellowstone and surrounding area. I brought my hard drive to 4 different places with no luck in them helping-I finally went on line and found out about indisc recovery by octanesoft. You can download it and try it out and if it works then you can purchase it to retrieve your files and if it doesn't then you haven't wasted any money (but probably some time)-I have saved 2 of my friends' external hard drives using this program also! Just thought I would share-if you want more info on it just let me know and I would be happy to try and help you-I know how devastating it can be!!
