Get ‘Em Down!

Hi there–Erica here–for my first ever team blog post! :)   I’m usually really bad at journaling…every now and then I will actually journal on a LO…I’m always so proud of myself…haha!  Anyways, today I’d just like to share some thoughts with you and maybe they’ll insipre some LOs (if so, please link me up here in the comment section, maybe you’ll even get a surprise!).

I don’t know about all of you, but since I have 3 kids aged 6 and younger, I stay busy trying to keep up with them & all the new things they are doing.  I tend to forget that when they are older, maybe they’d like to read about other things too.  Everytime I talk to my mum and I hear stories about my grandparents or the places we lived or people we knew…I’m always like “really? I didn’t know that!  I was there–why don’t I remember that?”  So I’m going to try to scrap more memories that I normally wouldn’t think of (and remember, you don’t HAVE to have photos to make a LO!).  Maybe things like: family vacations I remember from when I was a kid & silly stories I remember…stories from my parents & grandparents too so they don’t get lost…the day to day craziness that goes on around here some days (so when my kids have kids they can’t say “well I never acted like that!”  I’ll have proof! LOL!).  I found some fantastic examples of what I mean in Sya’s gallery…

Hopefully those will help you get those journaling juices flowing!  Think of some stories/memories you want preserved & get ‘em down! :D

Happy journaling!! ~ez

For me, journalling is the reason I scrapbook. If i try and sneak through a pretty page without journalling my husband always notices and says hey thats not finished! I love all the stories ppl tell. Not just the where and when but the why and who. Thanks for reminding us how important it is.

I have realized (through my inspired husband) that this is our family journal, so it is important to get those thoughts down…maybe writing things down on a calendar or something like that would help preserve those memories and help you remember if you don’t get to scrapping it right away!
