Everybody needs a little time away…

Monday, October 20th, 2008

Andrea (chia) here, pre-writing my blog entry because I’m leaving for vacation and return the day before this will be published. And when I get back I’m going to be busy loving on my children because I have a hunch that I’ll be missing them incredibly!

BUT I can’t say that I won’t enjoy the time away! I think we all need and deserve some time away for a bit of rest and relaxation. I found some great vacation/travel quotes as I was preparing for this trip (because every avid scrapper thinks ahead about future layouts, right?)…

A good traveler has no fixed plans and is not intent upon arriving.
– Lao Tzu

A traveler am I and a navigator, and every day I discover a new region within my soul.
– Kahlil Gibran

A trip is what you take when you can’t take anymore of what you’ve been taking.
– Adeline Ainsworth

A vacation is like love – anticipated with pleasure, experienced with discomfort, and remembered with nostalgia.
– Author Unknown

A vacation is what you take when you can no longer take what you’ve been taking.
– Earl Wilson

Be an explorer. The universe is filled with wonder and magical things.
– Flavia

For travel to be delightful, one must have a good place to leave and return to.
– Frederick B. Wilcox

He who returns from a journey is not the same as he who left.
– Chinese Proverb

I can’t think of anything that excites a great sense of childlike wonder than to be in a country where you are ignorant of almost everything.
– Bill Bryson

I hoped that the trip would be the best of all journeys: a journey into ourselves.
– Shirley MacLaine

No man needs a vacation so much as the person who has just had one.
– Elbert Hubbard

No matter what happens, travel gives you a story to tell.
– Jewish Proverb

I’m sure some of these could inspire a layout or two. I’ve already got some brewing!

Here is one I threw together last night from my trip using Britt-ish Designs kit Enchantment…

There is a thread in the forum here where you can post vacation/travel inspired layouts that you complete this month. This won’t be for points or prizes (but I’m sure there’s a way you can incorporate it into one of the Matters of Scrap challenges). It’s more just for sharing with each other some of the fun and relaxing things we’ve been up to! Can’t wait to see and hear about yours!
