LOTW & Sunday Spotlight – Denise
Sunday, February 1st, 2009Happy Sunday everyone! Before we read our interview for this week I’d like to take a quick moment and introduce our LOTW (layout of the week). Each week the SMG will look through all of the LO posted with in the last 7 days and choose which LO is our favorite. This week we’re excited to show you that Young Love by msbrad was our LOTW. Make sure you check out her gallery & the forum to leave her some love!

Now onto our Sunday Spotlight…

This week we have the great pleasure of getting to know Denise!
1. Your screen name? Your real name?
My screen name is neeceebee. My real name is Denise.
2. What is your main job/career?
My main job (and at the moment, my career) is being a mom. Once upon a time I was also a lawyer, but I haven’t let my skills go to waste…believe me, a courtroom would be a piece of cake compared to my family! lol!
3. Are you married/children/pets?
I am married to a wonderful man, Troy. Who, by the way, is also a lawyer. (We have interesting fights at our house!) And I have six kids. Mikayla, 12, Emma, 9, Joe, 9, Josh, 6, Becky 4, and Katie, 18 months. No pets. I don’t think I could handle one more thing that needs me to feed it and clean up after it!
4. Where is home for you?
I currently live in Virginia…but I grew up in Huntington Beach, California…which still FEELS like home to me.
5. What are your 3 favorite foods?
Oh. This is so hard. I love anything Asian, but my favorite is probably Korean BBQ Beef. I also love kim chee (also Korean) and chocolate.
6. What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?
Vanilla. I know. So boring!
7. Snacks…Salty or Sweet?
I love them both, but sweet a little more.
Chicken noodle soup out of a can. Ew. It makes me a little sick just to think about it.
PC. I scrap with PSE 6.
I have been digi-scrapping for about 10 months. I was a paper scrapper for a long time…like 13 years, but I could never do it anymore because every time I pulled my stuff out, I would have to stop, and then put it all away again, or my kids would get into it. So, finally, I stopped pulling it out. Then I read about digital scrapbooking and I gave it a try.
I actually didn’t like it at first, but then after ScrapMatters had the Queen of Scrap competition last year, I was hooked.
12. What was your 1st LO about?
My first layout was about my daughter Becky and an incident with a couple of full bottles of baby powder. I actually recently re-scrapped it because I wasn’t happy with it.
The hardest part about scrapbooking has been finding my own style. I have come a long way from when I first started, and I have a better idea now of what I want my scrapbooks to look like…but it is still evolving and I am trying to be true to that.
15. What would you like to learn to do (or do better) not related to scrapbooking?
I actually don’t watch a lot of tv anymore. If I have free time, I just want to scrap. But, I do really enjoy Top Chef and Project Runway. And my all time favorite movie is “The Princess Bride.”
I sit in my office, at a cluttered desk filled with all the things in the house that no one could find a place for…the only noise is the sound of my children running amok as I try to get a layout done. And, I MUST have a soda.
Well. I was born in Thailand and my first language was Thai. But, my mom mostly spoke Korean and my dad mostly spoke English, so we didn’t really all start speaking the same language regularly until we moved to the United States. Now, of course, I don’t even remember any Thai!
I would say that I like clean lines and white space. I think I am a ”less is more” kind of scrapper.
21. Favorite LOs that you have done?
This is hard. But my favorites (right now) are probably these:

Isn’t she great! I just love her and I love her style. Make sure you check out her gallery and thanks for letting us get to know you Denise!
