Road Map to Scrap!!

Friday, February 6th, 2009

Good Morning!!  Alamama here with your traveling instructions!  Are you ready?

1.  Choose an old photo/s.  Go and pick a photo/s that you have tucked away in a photo album.
2.  Choose two papers, one dark and one light.
3.  Add at least three stitches.
4.  Add at least two ribbons and or paper strips, placed behind at least one of your photos.
5.  Add at least two different elements from nature. (flowers, twigs, butterflies, etc.) You’ll need to use them evenly.  This means if you pick flowers use an even number of them, and so on.
6.  Frame your photo/s.
7.  Add a tag.
8.  Lastly, do a little journaling.  Tell us about the photo/s.

In order to reach our destination, we MUST have all 8 things in our layout. You can of course do more than these 8 things…and the rules are open to interpretation. Be creative, for example, if you use something that meeting more than one requirement, lucky you!

You will have ALL month to scrap your layout, and when you complete it, you MUST post it to the “RoadMap to Scrap” Challenge Gallery AND in the forum here to get credit.

Your completed layout will earn you one point in the Matter of Scrap Challenge System.

In addition, you can earn another point by using a newly released product (you must scrap and upload your layout within the first 7 days of the products release – and remember, you MUST indicate that you used a new release).

Remember, no double dipping…your layout must be unique to this challenge.

This challenge will run until the end of the month!  Then I will choose my favorite LO, which will earn another point!!

I can’t wait to see where your journey takes you!

Here’s mine:

I used Britt & Erica’s new *Itty Bitty* kit!

Here’s what the AWESOME CT came up with!
kkklatt…used mostly Haynay’s ‘be still my heart’ and a few elements are from Holly Designs

And Shutch…used WM [squared] – Green and Serene kit

Thanks for traveling with me.  I hope you had a great trip!

A Matter Of Snap #5 (February)

Friday, February 6th, 2009

Hello Henriëtte here with this months photo challenge!

Let’s start with announcing the winner from the January challenge, the goal was to let your photo subject really stand out and Jude achieved this with this more than gorgeous picture:

Congrats Jude!

Thank you all for your beautiful pictures and layouts for last months challenge. I know it wasn’t an easy challenge and I was overwhelmed by so many wonderful entries, thanks a bunch!!
And as the last couple of challenges were more or less for digital camera’s here is a challenge for all.

It is not a tutorial this month, but a subject:

Because it is Valentine in February I would like you to make a picture of a heart, but to make it a little bit more difficult (and here is the catch) it should not be a red heart and the heart should not be made of plastic, that should narrow down the field at least a bit.

So anything goes as long as it is not a red plastic heart. You can be creative and “make” your own heart or just make a photo of an allready existing heart, it is all up to you!

Here goes my try:

And here are the great entries from Monique (Monsu), two of Littlehiccup (Mary), Brittney (Britt) and Christine (alamama). I just love their creative and fun photo’s, thanks ladies!

Oooh and Britt made hers with the self-timer and alamama want you all to know that …no good coffee was used or harmed in this project!

(And for those who never played before: it should be a new picture (and layout) especially made for this challenge, only one picture and one layout are elegible for a point, and the picture should be posted in the appopriate gallery and linked back to the appropriate tread)

Have fun and have a great Valentine!

Henriëtte
