Hello! Melissa from the Scrap Matters Gang here. This week we are going to learn more about the super talented scrapper and fellow member of the SM Gang, Heather (snowdrop). Be sure to check our here fantastic gallery.
1. Your screen name? Your real name?
snowdrop / Heather
2. What is your main job/career?
computer stuff, mostly from home, nothing exciting
3. Are you married/children/pets?
no/no/no
4. Where is home for you?
NJ, near Philadelphia
5. What are your 3 favorite foods?
chicken marsala, filet mignon, and a *good* salad
6. What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?
cookies and cream
7. Snacks…Salty or Sweet?
sweet, though I love salty, too!
8. Beverage of choice?
I’m kind of addicted to Sunkist orange soda lately. I also love strawberry smoothies.
9. What are your favorite movies/TV shows?
I watch WAY too much TV, so it’s hard to narrow done. Lost, Heroes, CSI (though I really miss Grissom), Battlestar Galactica, Amazing Race, and So You Think You Can Dance (I tried to keep it down to 5, I came close enough!)
10. What kind of music do you listen to?
I don’t really listen to music anymore. If my ipod is on, I’m probably listening to a podcast (mostly Disney World related.) I love Broadway (try to go to a show a year) and Disney music (of course!) I’ve attended a *lot* of Clay Aiken concerts, he’s a fantastic performer, I feel bad most people don’t know about that.
11. Your favorite sports memory?
If anyone has even glanced at my gallery the last few months, they’ll know the answer to this! I love baseball & I’m a HUGE Phillies fan. I live & breathe with this team, I go to spring training, road trips, minor league games, charity events. But things don’t tend to go right for Philadelphia sports teams & I never thought I’d see a championship from any of the 4 teams in my life (the last time a Philadelphia team won was when I was 3. I was 10 months old when the Phils last won the World Series.) But on October 29, a moment I will never, ever forget, Brad Lidge struck out the final batter of the game, fell to his knees, and the Philadelphia Phillies became the World Champions. It is one of (if not *the*) greatest moment of my life, and I’m so thankful that I was there in person, along with my best friend, my mom.
12. Your favorite Disney character?
It’s hard to pick just one, so I’ll say Snow White for animated & Mary Poppins for live action. Plus, who doesn’t love Mickey?
13. Do you have any other hobbies besides digi-scrapping (are there other hobbies)?
I love taking pictures. A friend once said I take 500 pics of the same flower, lol. I’ve also run a fan site for Michelle Kwan for almost 12 years, along with a figure skating TV schedule. A few years after I started the site, I started the Michelle Kwan Forum (MKF) with a friend. Through my site & the forum, I’ve met some amazing people, and some of my closest & dearest friends. I like to travel (mostly for baseball, skating, or Disney!) And I still love paper scrapping.
14. What would you like to learn to do (or do better) not related to scrapbooking?
I always want my LOs to look “real”, so I’d always like to get better with shadowing & layering of elements.
15. Would you like to share a little known fact about you…?
no, I’m pretty boring, and I don’t think that’s a secret.
16. How long have you been digi-scrapping? How did you get started?
I started digi-scrapping last May. I’ve been a paper scrapper on and off all my life, I really got into it about 7 years ago. The digi LOs I saw always looked fake to me, so I never wanted to try it. On MKF, we have a scrapbook thread that was paper only, until my wonderful interviewer, Melissa, started posting some digi LOs. I thought they looked so beautiful, and real (!), but I still didn’t think I’d really get into it. She started posting some digi LOs she did for challenges at the DISboard we’re both on, so I slowly started to lurk in those threads. The LOs were just as beautiful & real, and I even posted in one of the threads complimenting the scrappers, but saying I was just looking. Britt & a few others responded that I would probably be joining them soon, lol. A few days later, there was a challenge with an awesome alpha as the participation prize, and I thought, let me try to throw something together. The LO is awful, and I’m so thankful that no one laughed at me, lol. I did a few more challenges before I realized that I was *hooked*, and there was no turning back! Unlike some digi scrappers, I still LOVE paper scrapping, and I feel so bad that I’ve been neglecting all my supplies (and my poor, lonely, Cricut) the last few months.
17. PC or Mac? What program do you use?
PC. I use mostly Photoshop 7, though my new laptop has CS3 which I’ve used a few times.
18. What was your 1st LO about?
I mentioned earlier it was for a DISboard challenge. It was to scrap food from the park, and I did apple struidel from the Food and Wine Festival. I don’t have it uploaded to the SM gallery, but I have it on my gallery here:

I re-did it a few months later, thank goodness!
19. What is the most challenging part of scrapbooking for you?
This is the same problem I always had in paper scrapping, and was hopeful it would change for my digi LOs, but I was wrong. Choosing which pictures, papers, and elements to use. Something basic, but it can take me forever to decide if I should go with option A or B. I can sit there for 20 minutes just changing the visibility of an element to decide if I want to use it, move it, or not.
20. Describe your “scrapping” environment. Music? TV in the background? Drinks? Snacks? Where?
I pretty much always have the TV on as background noise. If not, I’m listening to a podcast (Disney if it’s a Disney LO ) I never have food or drinks near a computer, I know how that would eventually turn out!
21. If you only had 2 elements to use on a LO, what would they be?
Something with glitz/glitter and an alpha.
22. Can you tell us a little about your scrappin’ style?
I’m not sure! Sometimes clean, sometimes lots of pics. I love the cluster/layered look, but I don’t know if I’ve really mastered that yet, so I don’t try it that much. Unless it’s an instruction for a challenge, I usually don’t scrap just one picture (as I mentioned, I take too many pics!)
23. Favorite LOs that you have done?

24. What is your favorite part of being a member of the Scraps Matter Gang?
I like having the push to leave comments, since I know how much I love getting comments myself! I enjoy seeing fellow SMG LOs & just getting to know them better.
Thanks for all of your hardwork Heather! We love having you on the SMG. Make sure to check out here gallery!
