Dazzling Decor Challenge – May 28th
Thursday, May 28th, 2009
Ready for another decor challenge? Whether you are wanting to change your decor for a new season, a holiday, a birthday, or other celebration, a banner can be a fun and easy way to add the extra “WOW” that we are often looking for! I’ve seen several different ideas for banners out there in cyberspace, and all of them are unique and add a personal touch. Your Dazzling Decor challenge for this month is to create a banner of your own! Here are a list of ideas that might help you get started:
- Create a banner for an upcoming holiday or season
- Add some style to a new baby’s nursery by creating a banner with their name
- Hosting a shower? Think baby, wedding, graduation party ….
- Everyone has a birthday – make a Happy Birthday banner that you can hang every time your family celebrates their special days
- Congratulations are often in order (new job, promotion, award, baby, wedding, graduation, etc)
- Welcome home a friend or family member who is returning from a trip
I created my sample using chipboard circles but don’t feel limited – try using triangles, rectangles, squares, ovals … the sky’s the limit!

Here’s another sample that Jaime (ocmath) created for Halloween:
I had a great time making my banner and see myself making several more for myself and others. I can’t wait to see what you come up with
As always, here are the guidelines for the challenges at Scrap Matters:
- Entries must be posted in the appropriate challenge gallery, and in the corresponding thread in the forum
- Since this challenge begins during the last week of the month, entries must be posted before the end of the following month (June 30) to be counted toward that month’s point total
- You’ll get 1 point for completing your banner and posting it. Plus, I’ll select one entry at random for a bonus challenge point.
