I’ll Pencil You In – August
Thursday, August 20th, 2009Hello everyone! The summer sure is flying by but I hope you are enjoying it! I also hope you had the chance to take many pictures; I know I did, and I picked one of my favorites of this month to use as calendar topper for the month of August.
Let me remind you what the I’ll Pencil You In challenge is about. A personalized calendar makes a great Christmas gift for parents/grandparents, and I know I love seeing my own calendar every time I walk into my kitchen. But who has the time to get a calendar ready in December? That’s why we’re working on our 2010 calendars one page at a time, so by the end of the year we’ll only have to put the pages together! If you haven’t been playing along so far, it’s not too late to join in!
Many of us have been creating calendar toppers or calendar pages only digitally so far, waiting to have them printed or print them ourselves and assemble them at the end of the year. Others have been printing each page as soon as it’s finished. Whatever works for you, is good: as long as you hold your calendar in your hands in time for Christmas!
So now let’s see some inspiration from the CT.
I used Erica Zane’s gorgeous Where the Heart Blooms and Fill In The Blank to create my calendar topper:
Here’s Jaime (ocmath)’s page:

and this is Liz (mommy22girls)’s calendar topper:

finally, here’s Kim (tgmousechick)’s page for February using Love Bytes by Britt-ish Designs:

It doesn’t matter which month you complete, as long as you get one page ready for your 2010 calendar!
As always, here are the guidelines for the challenges at Scrap Matters:
- entries must be posted in the hybrid challenge gallery, and you must post in the corresponding thread in the forum with a preview and a link to your project in the gallery
- entries must be posted before the end of the month (August 31)
- you’ll get 1 point for completing a month of your calendar and posting it. Plus, you can get an additional point if you use a new product within 7 day from its release. Also, I’ll select one entry for a bonus challenge point at the end of the month.
