Getting Hybrid 2.4.10

Thursday, February 4th, 2010

Krisi here with this months Getting Hybrid. We are two days into Hybrid Bootcamp, hopefully we have really peaked your interest and you have learned something new already with the lessons on Printing and Cutting. Tomorrow you will learn more about adhesives and so much more great topics every Monday, Wednesday and Friday this month.

This Getting Hybrid Challenge ties into many of the Bootcamp lessons this month. The challenge this month is to make a hybrid box – any kind that you choose. Think Valentine’s Day, Spring, Easter (get a head start now!), birthday, organization and more. To be fair to those who do not already have a box template from one of our fabulous designers here at ScrapMatters (or from elsewhere) you can get a box by completing the first weeks assignment. Many of you may not to know what to do with the template but Jamie (Simply J Studio) will have a lesson next week on that so I don’t want to go into to many details. So until then keep practicing the different techniques and practice! You don’t have to use a box template, you could modify a box you already have and hybridize it.

If you want to grab a new box template from the store here are a few for you to choose from:

Here are some examples of boxes created by the ScrapMatters Creative Team:

As always, here are the guidelines for the challenges at Scrap Matters:
- Entries must be posted in the appropriate challenge gallery (hybrid projects), and in the corresponding thread in the forum (this one)
- You will have until the end of the month (February) to complete your project
- You’ll get 1 point for designing, printing and putting together a hybrid box, and then posting the photo of it in the gallery. If you want some pointers about photographing your hybrid projects see this thread here. You will get a bonus point if you used a new release to complete your project. Plus, I’ll select one entry at random for a bonus challenge point.
