Layout of the Week!

Sunday, October 3rd, 2010

Wow, so many awesome layouts in the gallery again this week! Choosing just one of them was very tough. In the end, though, I had to choose this great layout, Poppins by Kathleena. I just loved the bright green background and other bright colors with the black & white picture. The clustering across the page is so fun, too.

The image is linked so head on over to the gallery or the forum and leave her some love!

10/2 Saturday Special: Panoramas

Saturday, October 2nd, 2010

Hello and Happy Saturday! Mary of Plum Dumpling Designs here to bring you this week’s Saturday Special!

Last week the boys and I went to the Adler Planetarium here in Chicago. I’m always so happy when I get to drive downtown. The traffic stinks, but the view is amazing. And I can’t help but get caught up in the hustle and bustle of city life…a far cry from my everyday.

I was inspired, as I always am, by Chicago’s amazing skyline. I think it always looks best in panorama. So my Saturday Special challenge for you is to use a panoramic photo on your LO. Talk about easy peasy!!

You can crop a regular photo into a panorama (which is what most of us did) or you can piece together multiple photos like Jan did in her LO below. It’s amazing! I can’t even tell where the photos line up!!! Maybe she should share that tip with us for a future Saturday Special. Another fun idea would be to piece together multiple photos without making them seamless. Kind of like this…

Here’s my LO using Exit 3 by Stolen Moments Designs and Girl Boy Girl

Here’s one from Kat using Serenity by HappyScrapGirl

Here’s the seamless one by Jan also using Serenity by HappyScrapGirl

And one by Fran using Vintage Shabby by LDrag Designs.

OK…for full challenge details please click here. Remember that October is DOUBLE points, so get scrapping already!! Hoo-and-ray!
